About The Position
The Patient Services Associate II enhances the patient and customer experience by professionally processing patient arrival and departure activities. The role obtains pre-certifications and/or pre-authorizations for procedures and verifies insurance, referrals, and patient demographic information. The associate supports an efficient patient flow to examination rooms through prompt and courteous treatment of patients and visitors, in alignment with the Jefferson Experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to communicate courteously with patients and/or visitors.
- Willingness to provide and support a positive Jefferson Experience for patients and/or visitors.
- Ability to process and interpret data.
- Ability to multitask while managing a time-sensitive workload.
Responsibilities
- Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson’s values.
- Process patient check-in and/or check-out, point-of-service activities, and/or appointment scheduling via EPIC.
- Obtain pre-certifications and/or pre-authorizations for procedures.
- Maintain efficient practice flow and escalate patient and/or provider concerns as appropriate.
- Greet and interact professionally with patients and visitors, by phone or in person.
- Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
