About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is looking for a Patient Service Specialist (PSS) to float between multiple outpatient clinics in the Southlake, TX area. This is a Per Diem (As Needed) position with varying hours between Monday - Friday, 7 am - 7 pm. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively. A self-starter who can provide outstanding customer service and effectively manage tasks is preferred. The role involves processing referrals, scheduling patients, completing intake and data entry, verifying insurance, obtaining authorizations, reviewing benefits with patients, collecting co-pays, managing billing and closing reports, and other related tasks. The PSS will coordinate patient appointments to minimize cancellations and support treatment adherence, register patient information accurately in the electronic medical record, and maintain medical documents. Responsibilities also include reconciling and posting charges daily, responding to information requests, maintaining office supplies, and managing mail. The position requires travel to non-home locations for coverage as needed and attendance at mandatory meetings and in-service education programs.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Process referrals, schedule patients, and complete the intake process.
  • Perform data entry, insurance verification, and obtain authorizations.
  • Review benefits and financial responsibilities with patients.
  • Collect co-pays at each visit.
  • Arrive and schedule patients.
  • Manage billing reports and closing reports.
  • Coordinate patient appointments to minimize cancellations and support treatment adherence.
  • Register patient information, ensuring all forms are complete and accurate in the electronic medical record.
  • Scan and maintain medical documents.
  • Reconcile and post charges daily and generate other reports for clean claim processing.
  • Respond to requests for information from patients, other departments, and physicians.
  • Maintain office supplies and manage mail.
  • Adjust schedule to meet center needs.
  • Travel to non-home location centers or other sites for coverage when necessary.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs.
