About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a Patient Service Specialist (PSS) for their Austin, TX (Onion Creek) location. This is a full-time, entry-level position with varying hours between Monday and Friday, 7 am to 7 pm. The role requires an organized, adaptable individual who can work both independently and collaboratively. The PSS will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service and managing various front office tasks, including referral processing, patient scheduling, intake, data entry, insurance verification, authorizations, benefit reviews, copay collection, billing reports, and closing reports. Travel to other locations may be required.

Requirements

• HS diploma or GED is required

Responsibilities

• Greets patients
• Answers phones
• Patient intake and data entry
• Insurance verification and pre-authorization
• Schedules patient appointments
• Operates front office of outpatient centers
• Supports therapists and therapy assistants
• Daily cash balancing and weekly banking deposits
• Travel to other locations as needed
• Provide outstanding customer service
• Process referrals
• Complete the intake process
