Provides service to patient before, during or post-appointment with minimal guidance. Facilitates efficient workflow, supports appropriate use of technology, and engages in effective communication. Navigates complex patients to include scheduling with multiple services or coordination with outside facilities or providers. Vanderbilt Health’s Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) program provides highly specialized care for patients experiencing high-risk pregnancies. The nationally recognized team partners closely with community obstetric providers to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care for both mother and baby, helping reduce complications and support the best possible outcomes. The program cares for patients with pre-existing medical conditions, pregnancy-related complications, prior pregnancy losses, fetal or placental abnormalities, and other complex maternal or fetal diagnoses. Using a multidisciplinary approach, MFM specialists collaborate with genetic counselors, care coordinators, pediatric subspecialists, and other medical experts to develop individualized treatment plans throughout pregnancy. With access to advanced diagnostic testing, telehealth services, innovative research, fetal interventions, and the region’s highest level NICU, Vanderbilt Health is committed to providing expert, compassionate care for mothers and babies facing the most complex pregnancy challenges.
