About The Position

Vancouver Clinic is hiring a full-time Patient Service Specialist for our busy Call Center. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others, pays close attention to detail, and takes pride in providing excellent customer service. In this role, you’ll schedule and reschedule appointments, assist with initial phone triage, verify and update patient information, gather details needed for appointments, and provide helpful directions. A strong candidate is dependable, organized, comfortable handling a high volume of calls, and able to communicate with patients in a warm, professional, and helpful way. Patient Service Specialist has the potential for off-site work after successful completion of training and meeting the requirements for working off-site. This requires an employee to live in the local Vancouver, WA or Portland, OR area and have a secure home network with minimum upload (5 mbps) and download speeds (25 mbps). Vancouver Clinic provides care across a wide range of medical decisions. This includes care and opinions on vaccinations, reproductive health, end-of-life decision-making, and gender affirming treatment. The ability to work, with or without reasonable accommodation, with a diverse population of patients and colleagues seeking or considering care in all areas, is an essential function of all positions at the Clinic.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Min of two years of experience in either medical office setting or in the health insurance industry strongly preferred.
  • Experience with multi-line phone system preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle pressure situations while maintaining tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work independently yet operates as an integral part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of computers and basic software programs.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
