About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation Fort Worth (Sports) is seeking a full-time Patient Service Specialist (PSS) to join their fast-paced, high-volume clinic. This entry-level position requires a candidate who is a fast-learner, independent thinker, well-organized, and attentive to detail. The ideal candidate will provide outstanding customer service in a dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The role involves a variety of administrative and patient-facing tasks crucial to clinic operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED is required.
Ability to work well with others or independently.
Must be organized and detail-oriented.
Must be flexible.

Knowledge of insurance verification.
Experience in healthcare, medical, or dental office administration.

Responsibilities

Process referrals, schedule patients, and complete the intake process with data entry.
Verify insurance, obtain required authorizations, and explain benefits and financial responsibilities to patients.
Collect patient co-pays and other financial responsibilities at each visit.
Register patient information, ensuring all forms are complete, accurate, and documented in the electronic medical record.
Coordinate patient appointments, working with the Center Manager to minimize cancellations and support treatment adherence.
Scan and maintain medical documents.
Reconcile and post charges daily, and generate other reports to ensure clean claim processing.
Respond to requests for information from patients, other departments, and physicians.
Maintain office organization, order supplies, and manage mail.
Adjust schedule to meet center needs.
Attend all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs.
Travel to non-home location centers or other sites for coverage when necessary.
