About The Position

The Patient Service Specialist at One Health Urgent Care is responsible for providing excellent patient experiences through compassionate customer service. This role involves managing patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, cash receipting, and handling patient arrivals and departures. The specialist will also assist with billing functions, manage confidential patient information, and ensure accuracy in all front-end processes. Additionally, they will monitor inventory of medications and emergency equipment, and demonstrate proficiency in emergency codes and healthcare regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Computer experience required.
  • Customer relations experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Medical Records Software preferred.
  • Front desk practice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exemplary customer service to create an excellent patient experience.
  • Interact with patients and families in a wide variety of sensitive situations using exemplary interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work cohesively on a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection and cash receipting, and arrival/departure desk activities.
  • Ensure accuracy and an outstanding patient experience throughout all front-end processes.
  • Encourage patient utilization of front-end technology during the registration process.
  • Enter and maintain confidential and accurate patient information, including insurance, billing, and payment details.
  • Assist with billing functions accurately or direct to the appropriate billing office.
  • Demonstrate proficiency of emergency codes and appropriate responses.
  • Adhere to applicable federal and state healthcare regulations.
  • Monitor inventory and stock of medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment.
