This position serves as a liaison between patients and clinical support staff. The Patient Representative will greet, instruct, and schedule patients, register them into the computer system, and determine their insurance benefits. The role requires maintaining strict confidentiality, greeting patients in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner, and checking patients in while verifying and updating demographic and insurance information. The representative will also assist patients with ambulatory difficulties, follow office scheduling policies, collect payments, and enter charges into the computer system. Additionally, they will register new patients, answer telephones, screen calls, take messages, and convey information to appropriate parties. Maintaining a neat and orderly work and reception area, advising the Practice Manager of front office issues, attending educational and staff meetings, and determining and inputting daily balances of charges and receipts are also key responsibilities. The role adheres to established policies, procedures, and OSHA Regulations, and requires the ability to work collaboratively with other staff members to foster a team approach for high-quality patient care and clinic efficiency.
