About The Position

The Patient Service Representative provides direct patient-facing services. The primary focus is on direct patient interactions and excellent customer service. Team members are expected to uphold the health center's mission by assuring that patients receive health care that is competent, caring, and meets a high degree of satisfaction. In addition, staff must support FPCSN's commitment to the creation of a trauma-informed system of care that continually recognizes and responds to the impact of traumatic stress on all those who have contact with the organization, including children, adults, families, caregivers, and staff. This position is on-site and available in our 3 centers: Abbottsford Falls: 4700 Wissahickon Ave., Philadelphia; 11th St.: 850 N 11th St., Philadelphia; Health Annex: 6120b Woodland Ave., Philadelphia.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Customer Service Experience
  • Knowledge of insurance payors and patient eligibility verification
  • Knowledge of insurance carriers (MCO/Medicare/Medicaid)
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service skills
  • Effective Communication, Interpersonal, and Conflict-Resolution Skills
  • Cultural competence and sensitivity to the diverse needs of patients
  • Exemplary organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Attention to Detail, Critical thinking, and Multi-tasking Skills
  • Ability to navigate and utilize electronic health records (EHR) efficiently
  • Computer Competency with Microsoft Office Suites and other FPCSN systems
  • Highly responsible, reliable, and courteous
  • Unconditional ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • LIGHT – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The use of arm and/or leg control requires force greater than sedentary, but the worker still sits the majority of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients
  • Answer phones and route calls
  • Schedule appointments.
  • Verify insurance and collect payments
  • Work within the Phreesia Hub to process patient requests
