This position is part-time, first shift, with primary hours from 06:45-15:15 two days a week. The role involves creating the initial electronic health record, preventing duplicate records, and ensuring patient safety through positive identification. Responsibilities include registering patients, collecting demographic and insurance information, and processing co-pays. The role requires maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, understanding insurance basics, and referring patients to Financial Advocates when necessary. The Patient Service Representative must also ensure compliance with government regulations such as HIPAA, EMTALA, and others, obtain required signatures, and may schedule appointments or coordinate cancellations. Additionally, the role involves providing accurate information to patients regarding test preparations and facility details, creating a welcoming environment, and answering telephones. Monitoring and working electronic health record work queues is also a key responsibility.
