About The Position

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) plays a vital role in the care team, supporting providers, connecting with patients, and ensuring a seamless, compassionate experience. As a key member of the ambulatory care team, the PSR provides efficient, high-quality service to patients who arrive for appointments or who telephone or visit in person to request appointments or information on tests and procedures, bills and charges, referrals, and other matters. This role also ensures the entry of billing information at the time of service, follows up on missing information, and upholds the standards for accurate and timely medical records. The PSR will cross-train on five desks and is expected to cover any desk as needed, including check-in/check-out, scheduling for primary care and specialty departments, and starting FMLA/disability forms. The role involves service recovery, verifying demographics, and insurance eligibility across nearly 12 departments covered by the front-end team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years related customer service experience.
  • Experience handling difficult caller/customers/patients.
  • Ability to function in a high volume, multiple-task environment.
  • Ability to function in a crowded or closely shared workspace.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions with demanding customers.
  • Must lift up to 35 pounds without help.

Responsibilities
