This is a casual/per diem (as needed) position for an internal teammate, Linda Brown, who will assume their current position and the additional casual assignment. May include working at West Mason Urgent Care and/or Kaukauna Urgent Care. The Patient Service Representative creates the initial electronic health record, prevents duplicate medical records, and ensures patient safety by verifying identity. They register patients, collect demographic and insurance information, and process co-pays. Accurate registration ensures timely payment and prevents billing issues. The role requires maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, understanding insurance basics, and knowing which plans Advocate Health contracts with. They also discuss financial obligations with patients and refer them to Financial Advocates when necessary. The position involves ensuring compliance with government agencies and regulations such as HIPAA, EMTALA, and others. They may also schedule appointments, coordinate cancellations/reschedules, and provide detailed information about test preparations and procedures. The role focuses on creating a welcoming and professional environment through extraordinary customer service, greeting patients, answering phones, and offering assistance. They monitor and work assigned electronic health record work queues.
