The PSR also notifies patient care areas of patient arrivals, manages waiting patients, identifies insurance types, and performs other related duties. Additionally, the role ensures accurate entry of billing information at the time of service, reviews encounter forms, enters patient charges into the EMR system, and balances charges. The PSR is also responsible for maintaining accurate and timely medical records, releasing information according to policy, ensuring the availability of necessary records and forms, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
