This role involves greeting visitors, patients, and families, managing patient flow through the registration process, and providing excellent customer service. The Patient Service Representative will handle telephone calls, inform patients of schedule delays, post charges, collect payments, and reconcile daily transactions. Responsibilities also include scanning insurance cards, processing verifications, updating patient information, scheduling appointments, entering orders for diagnostic tests and procedures, and completing referrals. The role requires cooperation with Patient Care Resources and clinical staff for pre-authorizations and prompt communication of issues to the Office Supervisor/Manager. General duties include various clerical tasks such as faxing, photocopying, scanning, filing, and mailing, with flexibility for different work schedules and covering for other staff, including at other office locations. The ability to follow downtime procedures is also necessary.
