About The Position

Provide a variety of patient and customer service related activities within the Erlanger Bledsoe Facility/Sequatchie Valley Emergency Department including answering phones, registering patients in and checking them out after patient visit and making patient appointments as needed. Serve as liaison between patient and clinical staff.

Requirements

  • High School education or its equivalent in education achievement.
  • One year reception experience or general clerical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical terminology course desired
  • Training for computer competency
  • Prior Invision training desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting patients and the public
  • Answering and screening telephone calls
  • Scheduling patient appointments as needed
  • Registering patients
  • Checking patients in
  • Checking patients out
  • Obtaining accurate patient demographic information
  • Preparing the medical records
  • Serving as the liaison between the patient and medical support staff
  • Filing
  • Balancing charges and collections at the end of each day
  • Making daily deposits
  • Accounts receivable, billing and insurance functions
  • Data entry
  • Office and supply ordering
  • Assist with reports
  • TJC/DNV requirements
  • Chart audits and other duties as directed
