This role is responsible for handling a variety of clerical and scheduling tasks within a healthcare setting. Key duties include managing incoming calls, routing messages, assisting visitors, handling mail and office supplies, and operating fax machines. The position also involves significant patient interaction through scheduling appointments, managing electronic medical records (EMR) registration in Epic, verifying patient demographics and insurance, collecting necessary documents and co-payments, and assisting patients with MyChart sign-up and messaging. The role requires maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality, prepping daily schedules, reviewing work queues for registration errors, and managing Epic waitlists and no-show/cancellation updates. The Patient Service Rep is expected to uphold Critical Moments of Service standards, maintain a clean reception area, and may be required to work flexible hours, overtime, or in alternate locations. Basic knowledge of keyboard skills and medical terminology is preferred, as is basic knowledge of Epic.
