Patient Service Representative – Family Medicine Patient Service Representative in Northampton, MA | Baystate Health Careers Department: Northampton Family Medicine Location: 325 King St, Northampton, Massachusetts Job Type: Full Time Shift: 8:30a-5p Make an Impact with Baystate Health Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) to join our Family Medicine team in Northampton , Massachusetts . Our practice offices are part of a multi-specialty medical group with nearly 1,000 physicians and advanced practitioners serving patients across more than 60 locations in Western Massachusetts. The Patient Service Representative role offers the opportunity to work in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary care team to perform essential administrative tasks necessary to support patient care.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required
• GED or HiSET (Required)

Nice To Haves

• 6-18 months experience preferred (PSR I or II) or 3 years preferred (PSR III)

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, gather/verify demographics, check for necessary referrals/pre-authorizations.
• Request proof of insurance, verify coverage using automated systems.
• Request, accept, and document co-payments or outstanding account balances.
• Schedule new/follow-up appointments following practice guidelines
• Review patient information at checkout, schedule future visits, provide referrals.
• Answer/route calls, manage/resolve administrative inbox messages, print orders, letters, or short-form medical records in compliance with HIPAA, prepare documents for scanning and route incoming mail and faxes.
