The Patient Service Rep 1 is responsible for greeting patients, monitoring patient flow, and ensuring efficient and courteous care. This role involves completing the registration process, verifying and updating patient demographic and insurance information, calculating and collecting patient financial liability, and processing payments for past due and present balances. The representative will also follow the Financial Clearance policy, assist patients in need of financial assistance, and refer them to a Financial Counselor. Additionally, the role includes performing visit closure tasks such as checking out patients, scheduling follow-up appointments, collecting additional patient responsibility, and providing necessary documents. Maintaining knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer requirements, communicating customer service issues, and meeting productivity and accuracy expectations are key aspects of this position. The role also requires maintaining excellent public relations and collaborating effectively with others.
