About The Position

Join UChicago Medicine, as a Patient Service Coordinator in the Mother/Baby Department. As a Patient Service Coordinator, you will function as a staff member who, under the direction of the Patient Care Manager, provides support to the patient/significant others, physician, care and multidisciplinary teams, and additional care center staff to facilitate patient care within the patient care units. At the University of Chicago Medicine, the dedicated Patient Service Coordinators share in their vision and commitment to excellent customer service and patient care. In patient support, they have a strong sense of service orientation in responding to the needs of internal and external customers. They work both independently and in a team environment to identify the best approach to problems and questions, striving for a positive patient and customer experience, every time. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • At least one year of general office experience, preferably in a medical/clinical setting
  • Good written and verbal communication, organizational and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask effectively, uses discretion and good judgment, and maintains patient confidentiality
  • Must be able to independently and professionally interact with customers, internal and external to the Hospitals
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, ability to learn and utilize applicable software

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Business courses preferred
  • Medical terminology preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a clean, orderly work environment that is conducive to the provision and coordination of patient centered care
  • Processes official paperwork related to births, such as birth and death certificates, paternity acknowledgement or denial forms, public aid, social security and other forms associated with State vital records requirements.
  • Communicates and manages information in a sensitive and efficient manner.
  • Scans documents into medical records
