About The Position

Oak Valley Health is seeking a Part-Time Patient Scheduling Clerk to join their team at Markham Stouffville Hospital. This role is responsible for patient scheduling and order entry in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with proficiency in computer systems, preferably Meditech. A commitment to patient-centered care and a healthy, safe workplace is essential.

Requirements

  • Previous experience with patient scheduling and order entry in a high-volume, fast-paced environment is required.
  • Knowledge of and/or completion of a medical terminology course.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent public relations and communication skills with a pleasant telephone manner.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of the team.
  • Evidence of good attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated good attendance record with the ability to maintain this same standard.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital-related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.
