About The Position

The Patient Financial and Scheduling Specialist is a member of a multi-disciplinary team that coordinates the financial and scheduling of patients seeking care for the management of their pain. The role functions as a collaborative and participative member of an interdisciplinary team, consistent with the mission, vision and values of the Pain and Headache Center and Swedish Medical Center. Providence Swedish emphasizes a culture of patient-focused, whole-person care built on understanding, commitment, and mutual respect, empowering caregivers.

Requirements

• 1 year of Patient registration, financial counseling or insurance company experience

Nice To Haves

• 2 years of intermediate level of experience with Microsoft Office and the Excel programs
• 2 years of experience in a medical inpatient or outpatient admitting setting

Responsibilities

• Responsible for appointment and surgical scheduling
• Responsible for insurance authorization
• Selects and reserves specific equipment for the case scheduled
• Maintains positive and professional customer relations and seeks client feedback
• Works collaboratively with the Pre-Admission Center clerical staff to schedule pre-admission appointments
