About The Position

The Patient Safety Sitter assists in keeping a patient safe when a patient is at risk of harming themselves by pulling lines, falling, wandering and other behaviors. This role is responsible for continuous monitoring of the patient closely at the bedside at all times and never leaving the patient alone. The sitter may intervene by assisting the patient to toilet, ambulate, reposition or prevent the patient from pulling on lines.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to respond quickly to changing patient needs.
Effective communication skills.

Nice To Haves

High School diploma or GED preferred.
Human services industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Continuous monitoring of the patient closely at the bedside at all times.
Never leaving the patient alone.
Assisting the patient to toilet, ambulate, reposition or prevent the patient from pulling on lines.
