About The Position

Bristol Health is seeking a Patient Safety Observer (PSO) to join their team. This role involves utilizing MedSitter remote patient safety audio and video monitoring technology to remotely observe multiple patients in collaboration with unit clinical nurses. The position also includes in-person patient monitoring and care to support healthcare teams. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with backgrounds such as PCA, Nursing Student, EMT, or those applying to PA school who wish to make a significant impact in healthcare. The PSO will provide one-on-one companionship and supervision to patients using remote technology, observing and documenting behaviors, and alerting the patient care team to any behaviors that might disrupt the patient care plan. The primary objectives are to enhance patient safety, improve patient satisfaction, and contribute to the successful execution of each patient's care plan.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED desired but not necessary.
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Active CPR certificate required.
Experience in a hospital environment with direct patient care preferred.
Good communication skills.
Ability to learn and navigate software and technology efficiently.
Effective problem solving skills to ensure patient safety.
Knowledge of basic patient care procedures and medical terminology.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Basic Computer skills.
Data entry and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Utilize MedSitter remote patient safety audio and video monitoring technology to remotely observe patients.
Follow multiple patients remotely in collaboration with unit clinical nurses.
Provide in-person patient monitoring and care to support healthcare teams.
Provide one-on-one companionship and supervision with patients via remote technology.
Observe, communicate, and document patient behaviors.
Alert the patient care team of behaviors that could be disruptive to the patient care plan.
Enhance monitoring to improve patient safety and patient satisfaction.
Aid in the successful care plan for each patient.
