About The Position

The Patient Safety Attendant provides continuous observation and support for patients requiring close monitoring to ensure their safety, comfort, and dignity. This role is essential in maintaining a safe environment and supporting the clinical team in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. The position is PRN (as needed) with varying hours based on patient care needs and is part of the Patient Care Support department. There is no travel required for this role.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – required
• Calm, attentive, and dependable demeanor
• Strong communication and observational skills
• Compassionate and respectful approach to patient care
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Professionalism and accountability
• Compliance with all hospital policies, including vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered)
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening (post-offer)

Nice To Haves

• Previous hospital or patient care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide constant, close observation of assigned patients to ensure safety
• Identify and promptly report potential risks or changes in patient condition
• Assist with patient mobility, transport, and basic care needs as appropriate
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff and interdisciplinary care teams
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful patient environment
• Accurately document observations and report concerns in a timely manner
