About The Position

Make a meaningful difference by helping keep patients safe during their most vulnerable moments. As a Patient Safety Attendant (PSA), you'll work alongside nurses and healthcare professionals to provide continuous observation and support for patients who require close monitoring. The Resource Team is ideal for individuals seeking variety and flexibility. Team members float to different patient care areas throughout the health system, gaining valuable experience across multiple units and patient populations. Must be able to float to: Midtown, Gateway, and Henderson.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required within 6 months of hire
• No prior healthcare experience required
• Must complete 3.5 days of paid training (Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM)

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous observation of patients identified as high risk for falls, self-injury, wandering, or other safety concerns
• Monitor patient behavior and report changes in condition, escalating behaviors, pain, discomfort, or safety concerns to nursing staff
• Alert staff to episodes of wandering or attempted elopement
• Promote a safe environment by remaining attentive and responsive to patient needs
• Assist with personal hygiene and basic patient care activities as directed by a Registered Nurse
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to support quality patient care
