Patient Safety Attendant - Nursing Support Services
About The Position
Mayo Clinic is seeking a Patient Safety Attendant (Sitter) to join their Nursing Support Services team. This role works under the direct supervision of a registered nurse to provide a safe environment for patients, serving as an alternative to restraints. The attendant is responsible for constant, alert observation of assigned patients, ensuring their safety and security by preventing self-harm, harm to others, harm from others, and preventing flight risk. Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Flexibility (works flexible hours, which include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends).
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Promotes team building.
- Self-directed.
- Able to adapt to unpredictable situations.
- BLS certification required within 1 week of start date.
Nice To Haves
- Patient care or healthcare related field experience preferred.
Responsibilities
