About The Position
Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, this role provides patient supervision, maintains patient safety, and completes observation flow sheets. The position includes a 5-week Nurse Assistant training program with a November start date, running Monday through Friday. Weeks 1-4 are from 8:00 am to 3:15 pm, and week 5 is from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 0-1 years of relevant experience, required.
Responsibilities
- Functions as a co-worker to the nurse and a key member of the nursing care team, providing patient supervision and communicating changes in patient condition to the nurse.
- Documents accurately on the Constant Observation flow sheet.
- Interacts with patients, visitors, and staff to support patients' specific needs related to age, culture, spiritual, physical, and mental challenges.
- Provides for a safe environment for patient safety.
- Maintains patient safety by requesting assistance from others for personal care needs of the patient.
- Accompanies patients to other departments.
- Maintains a patient environment that is free of clutter and potential hazards.
- Reports defective equipment and unsafe conditions.
- Follows policy for Constant Observation at all times.
