This position is 32 hours per week, working from 11 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with an every other weekend commitment and a holiday rotation. As a Patient Safety Assistant in the Emergency Department, you will perform a variety of activities under the general management and supervision of the Nurse Manager and/or direction of the Registered Nurse. These activities include direct and continuous observation of patients, participating in patient rounding, ensuring environmental safety, answering call lights, restocking supplies, transporting patients, cleaning equipment, completing documentation, and communicating changes in patient behavior to the Registered Nurse. You will also be involved in quality improvement studies and activities specific to the unit, considering cultural beliefs and practices, and utilizing interpreter services when needed. All duties are performed in accordance with safety regulations and hospital policies.
