Performs registration for various areas including Urgent Care and Central Registration across different Medical Office Buildings (MOBs). Conducts patient interviews to gather demographic, financial, and guarantor information, assists with MyChart activation, and inputs data into the Hospital Information System (HIS). Contributes to financial effectiveness by verifying insurance, identifying veteran status, and inquiring about VA billing. Identifies accident-related encounters and corrects claim details. Secures necessary patient signatures on various forms, provides relevant patient forms, and verifies insurance eligibility and benefits. Ensures prior authorization/precertification for outpatient services and verifies medical necessity for Medicare services, issuing Advanced Beneficiary Notices (ABN) when required. Correctly identifies patients using three primary identifiers, avoids duplicate medical records, and notifies clinical departments of patient arrivals and delays.
