About The Position

Orange County Health Psychologists is seeking an experienced Full Time Patient Relations Liaison to join the Admin Team in our main office in Irvine, California. Our highly-regarded group practice of 80+ psychologists and therapists provides high quality behavioral health services at three locations in Orange County one location in San Francisco. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting patients with a warm, compassionate, and professional demeanor along with providing administrative support to a team of employee therapists. Support functions include facilitating inquiry calls, scheduling patients, verifying insurance benefits, submitting claims, posting payments, sending, receiving, and inputting of patient forms and communications, and auditing of clinical charts and practice procedures, all with a high degree of professionalism, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills. Knowledge of general office procedures and computer systems is required. Knowledge or education in any of the following is a real plus: psychology, health care, or medical billing. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in an office environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, health care, accounting, finance or business
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge or education in psychology, health care, or medical billing.
  • Medical management software or other accounting software experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with new patient inquiries; assessing need and matching patients to the most appropriate provider
  • Answer patient questions and provide information
  • Track inquires to ensure that all callers have been helped on a timely basis
  • Coordinate intake appointments to include scheduling and intake documents
  • Input patient demographics and insurance information
  • Call for verification of insurance benefits
  • Provide support functions to a team of behavioral health providers
  • Schedule appointments and manage providers’ master calendars
  • Prepare and submit insurance claims using CMS 1500 format
  • Post patient and insurance payments to medical office software program
  • Audit and correct rejected claims
  • Process credit card payments
  • Follow all regulations and guidelines set by HIPAA, Medicare, state programs, and licensing boards.
  • Contribute to the overall mission and core values of the group practice
  • Other duties as assigned.
