Patient Registration Specialist - Toledo Hospital
About The Position
The Patient Registration Specialist is often the first person patients meet when they pre-register or arrive for medical services in a ProMedica clinic, lab, inpatient, outpatient, or emergency department. The role includes validating insurance, posting payments, securing registration and billing information, and answering questions from patients, visitors, and other staff. The specialist follows HIPAA guidelines and privacy practices, protects patient confidentiality and patient rights, contributes actively as a team member, prioritizes daily responsibilities, and assists with training new staff as needed. The specialist reviews work to ensure compliance with system quality assurance policies. This summary describes the general nature and level of the work and is not exhaustive.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Experience or basic knowledge of health insurance plans and medical terminology.
- At least 1 year of experience in medical registration, medical assisting, revenue cycle/billing, or a similar position in a medical office setting.
