About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring accurate registration, insurance verification, and administrative support. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys helping others, and can effectively manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous healthcare, patient registration, medical office, front desk, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with insurance verification and patient registration processes is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Register patients and accurately enter demographic and insurance information into the system.
  • Verify patient and visitor identities by collecting required information and reviewing photo identification.
  • Determine patient payment responsibilities and identify individuals who may require financial assistance resources.
  • Explain patient consent forms and obtain required signatures.
  • Distribute and collect admission and registration paperwork.
  • Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits prior to services.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls while providing excellent customer service.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of protected health information (PHI).
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations.
  • Resolve patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
