About The Position

R1 is a leading provider of technology-driven solutions that transform the patient experience and financial performance of hospitals, health systems and medical groups. As a Patient Registration Representative, you will work to help patients check into the hospital. This role can be fast-paced, and you will be the primary point of contact for patients during registration, answering their questions and building trust by collecting information accurately and quickly. You will also need to listen with compassion to address their fears, concerns, and questions. This position is ideal for someone who is a confident multi-tasker, a quick learner with technology, and proficient in typing and answering phones. No prior healthcare experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided, making this a perfect starting point for a healthcare career. Candidates must be up-to-date on vaccinations, pass a drug test, and a background check prior to hire. In this role, you will work on computers and answer phones to intake information in a busy environment, often across multiple screens, ensuring details are input correctly between physician and nurse check-ins. You should be comfortable working across multiple programs and typing quickly. You will also work around clinicians who may interrupt the registration process for emergent clinical care. A key aspect of this role is assisting people who may be very ill or worried, requiring you to listen carefully to ease their anxiety, ask follow-up questions, and build rapport in real time. The work environment is fast-paced, often requiring you to be on your feet assisting patients with registration. While collecting patient and insurance information may seem straightforward, there is significant variation in health plans and coverage that will be covered through training. This is not a casual desk job; you must work quickly and expect the unexpected. You will be part of a supportive team, and R1 RCM Inc. cares about your progress toward career goals, viewing this role as a first step in a healthcare career.
