As a Patient Registration Rep, you will be the welcoming face and voice of Henry Ford Health, ensuring a positive and efficient experience for all patients. You will handle patient registration, insurance verification, and cash collections, while advocating for patient needs and providing exceptional customer service. Your role is crucial in creating a smooth and supportive environment for patients and staff alike.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors effectively over the telephone, in person, and in writing.
  • Willingness and ability to instruct others.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of experience related to patient admitting, registration, and/or insurance eligibility and verification in a hospital or medical office setting.
  • EPIC training/experience and familiarity with insurance payor systems and ICD-10 medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Follow standard operating procedures for patient registration, including face-to-face check-in, preregistration, and insurance eligibility confirmation.
  • Perform new patient registration and update existing patient and insurance information.
  • Respond to inquiries from callers and customers, advocating on their behalf to meet their needs.
  • Act as a welcoming front door, instilling loyalty and anticipating patient needs while providing efficient customer relationship management.
  • Handle cash collections and ensure accurate processing of payments.
