Patient Registration I - Patient Access
About The Position
The Patient Registration I (Hamilton) role supports patient care and operational reliability by accurately registering patients, verifying insurance, and ensuring all required documentation is completed in accordance with regulatory standards. This position serves as a first point of contact, providing excellent customer service to patients and visitors while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare administrative or customer service role
- Proficiency in computer systems and data entry
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic understanding of insurance and healthcare processes
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Customer service orientation
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree in healthcare administration or related field
- Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and familiarity with medical terminology

Responsibilities
- Accurately register patients
- Verify insurance
- Ensure all required documentation is completed in accordance with regulatory standards
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Review an account for quality and confirmation and can demonstrate the ability to update all aspects of a patient account
- Assist patients with the completion of Financial Assistance Forms, HCAP Application and Medicaid Applications (if applicable)
- Demonstrate knowledge of all compliance or legally required registration forms, consents, literature and documents
- Demonstrate consistent hand hygiene practices
