About The Position

The Patient Registration Coordinator serves as the initial point of contact for all patients and visitors to the office. The role requires a happy, responsible, and proactive individual who is a team player and sets a positive tone for patients entering the office. This position offers the opportunity to enhance the patient experience by providing a welcoming atmosphere and support. The coordinator acts as a crucial link between the front and back office, assisting patients, staff, and doctors in various capacities. It is ideal for individuals who enjoy making connections with people.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Customer Service Skills – must be able to provide excellent patient service to ensure their dental needs are being met
  • Multi-Tasker – ability to prioritize and address multiple demands concurrently
  • Communication – must be able to communicate effectively with the clinical team, patient, responsible parties, and other staff as necessary
  • Team Mindset – the ability to work within a team for the good of the patient
  • Positive Problem Solver – ability to think on your feet and find solutions to a variety of unique issues

Nice To Haves

  • Dental Experience is Preferred but NOT Required

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients upon arrival
  • Obtain insurance information, review it for accuracy, and route it to the appropriate staff member
  • Hand out paperwork to patients according to their needs, handle routine questions, and review paperwork for accuracy when submitted
  • Change and update patient(s) status in the computer according to established guidelines
  • Verify insurance and frequencies when needed
  • Assist with attaching payments, sending claims, checking billable x-rays
  • Clean/maintain front office area/lobby
  • Perform other duties as assigned
