About The Position

We are seeking a professional, dependable, and customer-focused individual who enjoys working in a friendly, team-oriented environment. The Patient Referral Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for our patients, referral sources, and visitors. This role is responsible for performing all tasks related to appointment scheduling, message intake, and communication with patients and referral sources. The Patient Access Coordinator reports directly to the Patient Accounts Supervisor and plays a vital role in ensuring an exceptional patient experience.

Requirements

  • Previous receptionist, scheduling, customer service, or medical office experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with computer systems and standard office equipment
  • Professional demeanor with a positive, team-oriented attitude

Responsibilities

  • Answering and directing incoming telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner
  • Scheduling and confirming patient appointments
  • Taking and accurately relaying messages to appropriate staff members
  • Communicating effectively with patients, physicians, referral sources, and other healthcare professionals
  • Assisting patients with general inquiries and providing excellent customer service
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and patient information
  • Coordinating with internal departments to support efficient patient care and office operations
  • Performing other administrative duties as assigned
