About The Position

The oncology patient navigator is a clinician who provides assistance to patients, families and caregivers to overcome barriers within the healthcare system. The navigator facilitates access to all available resources the patient may need for support. This role acts as a single point of contact between the patient, caregivers and clinical staff and coordinates appointments between the various departments.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Graduate for an accredited nursing program required.
Current RN license with the Arkansas State Board of Nursing required.
BLS required upon hire or obtain within 30 days of hire.
ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Good listening skills.
Good problem solving skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to adapt education to patient’s literacy level and learning style.
Excellent relationship skills, good teamwork, and working autonomously

Nice To Haves

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
Graduate from an accredited advanced practice nursing program preferred.
Preferred APRN Licensure with the Arkansas State Board of Nursing by passing either the AANP, ANCC, or AACN certification exams.
Chemotherapy Certification preferred.
Experience with working with multiple disciplines, preferred
Effective networking with providers and community resources preferred
Experience in oncology preferred
