About The Position

Dendreon is dedicated to fighting cancer through immunotherapy. The Patient Navigation Educator (PNE) plays a crucial role in this mission by providing essential patient information and education to ensure the safe, effective, and appropriate use of PROVENGE® (sipuleucel-T) throughout the patient's journey, from enrollment to completed infusions. This field-based role involves regular communication with patients using the Provenge Treatment Guide for guidance. The PNE may also support the Nurse Educator team with field coverage when necessary. The position requires close collaboration with various Dendreon functions, including Patient Services, Sales Teams, and Medical Affairs, and all support activities must align with FDA-approved product labeling. The role reports to the Senior Director, Nurse Educator.

Requirements

  • RN and/or BSN required.
  • Minimum of three or more years of related experience in a commercial pharmaceutical industry position.
  • Minimum of three or more years working closely with commercial team members to improve the therapy process within offices and with patients.
  • Working knowledge of FDA and PhRMA promotional guidelines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to build effective relationships within the company and with external partners, at all levels, from technical/clinical staff to executives.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while responding to inquiries from offices, patients, or commercial colleagues.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Patient Services, Nurse Educator, and Key Account Managers (kAMs) to identify newly enrolled patients.
  • Communicate with patients regarding their enrollment and the steps in their infusion process.
  • Document all communications and conduct them within legal and compliance guidelines.
  • Provide backup support to the Nurse Educator team, including healthcare professional account education, from enrollment to completed infusion of the Product.
  • Interact with members of the Apheresis Network and provide clinical support during all aspects of the PROVENGE® process, which may include in-service and infusion support.
  • Regularly communicate and meet as needed with the Nurse Educator and KAMs.
  • Utilize analytics and data daily to monitor and maintain activities within assigned accounts and regions, and provide updates to commercial colleagues.
  • Provide a weekly activity report to the supervisor at the end of each business week.
  • Participate in and attend all commercial trainings and meetings as warranted.
  • Regularly participate in and provide updates for supported regions via conference calls, regional meetings, and national sales meetings.
  • Attend local, state, regional, and national association meetings and congresses as warranted.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with internal business partners to successfully accomplish assigned responsibilities.
  • Adhere to all compliance and contractual requirements per Dendreon’s policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
