Under the general supervision of a pharmacist, the primary responsibility of the Certified Pharmacy Technician Specialist is to obtain and document accurate admission medication histories for patients admitted to or placed under observation in the acute care setting. This role is primarily based in the Emergency Department, where the technician collaborates with the healthcare team to support medication reconciliation and promote safe, effective patient care. The Certified Pharmacy Technician Specialist is responsible for providing pharmacy services, including, but not limited to preparing pharmaceuticals, performing inventory control, compliance audits, and financial transactions, providing customer service, and maintaining pharmacy records. The Certified Pharm Tech Specialist will lead specialized activities within the department which will include the following job functions: Chemotherapy IV Compounding, Sterile IV Preparation Oversight, Research, and much more.
