About The Position

Join the Patient Flow team at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, a 591-bed hospital affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College, where we are dedicated to providing the highest quality, most compassionate care to patients. In this role you will process all throughput within Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Triages case to the appropriate service line attending. Collaborates with admitting teams as well as departmental leadership to facilitate admission of patients. This includes the identification of the appropriate level of care for admission, the appropriate needs of the patients, and identification and facilitation of admission to the appropriate part of the medical service in consonance with this. Coordination of communication amongst the patient care team.

Requirements

  • BSN required
  • BCLS/ACLS
  • Masters in Nursing or related field. If Masters in Nursing, BSN can be preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical experience
  • Current NYS RN Licensure
  • Computer skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and effective communications skills.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of critical pathways, managed care and continuum of care.
  • Demonstrate the ability to initiate, accept and adapt to change, flexible.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters in nursing or related field, If Masters in Nursing, BSN can be preferred.
  • Critical Care, ED or Progressive Care Experience.
