Patient Flow Lead
About The Position
This role is responsible for managing patient flow within Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital, specifically within the Patient Logistics department. The Patient Flow Lead will ensure optimal patient placement and flow by assigning and prioritizing beds based on clinical need and unit capacity. This involves close collaboration with nursing leadership and environmental services to streamline cleaning workflows and minimize patient wait times. The lead will also consult with nursing and provider teams to facilitate smooth patient placement and transfers, while diligently maintaining patient documentation and department logs.
Requirements
- High School diploma equivalency with 1 year of experience OR 2 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
- Required professional licensure/certification and 1 year of experience can be used in lieu of education, if applicable.
- Previous experience.
Responsibilities
- Assign and prioritize patient beds based on clinical need and unit capacity to ensure optimal patient placement and flow.
- Partner with nursing leadership and environmental services to proactively prioritize cleaning workflows, minimizing patient wait times.
- Consult with nursing and provider teams to facilitate the smooth placement and transfer of all patients.
- Diligently maintain patient documentation and department logs, executing placement orders with precision.
