About The Position

The Specialist role in the Financial Counseling department is responsible for providing leadership and support to the Financial Counseling team. This position acts as a resource for business functions related to all vendor and/or department operational processes and tasks. The Specialist utilizes effective customer service and interpersonal skills, promotes a team-oriented, leadership role, and exercises a high degree of control over confidential information. They use operational reporting, logic, data, and reasoning for decision-making, and apply process improvement techniques, including LEAN thinking, in daily work. Responsibilities include maintaining vendor documentation and reporting, scheduling and leading vendor quality meetings, maintaining vendor portals, processing vendor accounts, working reports per a priority matrix, training new hires, supporting staff, assisting with quality reviews and productivity, ensuring metrics perform within established parameters, and compiling department supply requests.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Health Services Administration or Business related field, or three (3) years revenue cycle experience and/or 1-2 years of post-high school education.
  • Two (2) years of experience specific to discipline.
  • Knowledgeable in all disciplines of the Financial Counseling department.
  • Effective customer service/interpersonal skills.
  • Team-oriented, leadership qualities.
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of control over confidential information.
  • Ability to use operational reporting to identify areas of opportunity for improvement.
  • Ability to use logic, data and reasoning for decision making.
  • Ability to use process improvement techniques, including LEAN thinking, in daily work processes.
  • Must be vaccinated or have lab-confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella.
  • Must receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures metrics perform within established parameters.
  • Compiles and orders supply requests for the department.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
