About The Position

Incumbent coordinates patient financial needs with available resources to ensure that the patient's financial obligation to the hospital is met.

Requirements

• Basic MS Word and Excel skills.
• 35 wpm keyboarding/typing speed.
• 6,000+ sph 10-key (for cashier PFC).
• Basic math skills.
• One six months of experience in an office environment or hospitality/customer service environment.
• Ability to assess relevant information and make appropriate decisions, recognizing when to escalate to Supervisor/Manager for resolution.
• Strong interpersonal skills that reflect a positive attitude, with the ability to apply diplomacy and flexibility with patients and work associates, as required.
• The employee communicates effectively.
• The ability to communicate orally and through written correspondence with patients and thirdparty payors.
• Bilingual in Spanish as required by the position.
• Knowledge of collection procedures and basic medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

• Some college course work
• Advanced knowledge of MS office, including PowerPoint.
