The Patient Financial Advocate is responsible for screening patients on-site at hospitals for eligibility assistance programs either bedside or in the ER. This includes providing information and reports to client contact(s), keeping them current on our progress. The role involves identifying self-pay patients, screening them for State, County, and Federal eligibility assistance programs, and initiating the application process. The advocate will introduce patients to Firstsource services, provide updates on their progress, and facilitate transitions to backend Patient Advocate Specialists. Responsibilities also include recording patient information, documenting screening results, and performing outside field work such as patient home visits as required. Maintaining positive working relationships with hospital staff, reporting occurrences to management, and accessing necessary patient information are also key aspects of the role. Additionally, the position requires meeting goals, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to company policies and the Corporate Compliance Program.
