As a Patient Experience iCare Exchange Snowflake Engineer, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining secure, scalable, and compliant data solutions that directly support our patient services mission. This position combines deep technical expertise in Snowflake with a strong commitment to patient privacy, data security, and healthcare compliance standards. You will be responsible for architecting, developing, and optimizing Snowflake-based data solutions that enable Sanofi to deliver exceptional patient experiences while maintaining the highest standards of data protection and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in Snowflake architecture, features, and capabilities (i.e., Micro Partitioning, zero copy cloning, Time Travel, Caching).
  • Proficiency in working with business, reporting and engineering teams to develop the industry leading data models using Dimensional/Datavault approaches.
  • Hands on experience with data modelling tools like Erwin/SQLDBM.
  • Expert-level SQL skills with ability to write complex queries and optimize performance.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes.
  • Deep knowledge of Snowflake security features, access control, and data governance.
  • Proven experience in query optimization, warehouse tuning, and cost management.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, Schema Builder, or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Proficiency with GitHub and collaborative development workflows.
  • Experience with Python, JavaScript, or other scripting languages for automation.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MS, MBA) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data integration, data engineering, or similar roles.
  • Snowflake certified.
  • Experience implementing security and compliance controls in cloud data platforms.
  • Track record of delivering scalable, high-performance data solutions.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database design principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Advanced skills in Agile delivery, product collaboration, compliance, and digital strategy.
  • Fluent in English; an additional language is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Design multi-agent architectures incorporating Model Context Protocol (MCP), retrieval-augmented generation, vector embeddings, agent orchestration frameworks, and observability tools for enterprise-grade autonomous AI solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, and maintain robust Snowflake data solutions with strong SQL expertise and comprehensive knowledge of Snowflake architecture.
  • Implement and optimize data models, schemas, and pipelines within the Snowflake environment.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
  • Leverage Snowflake features including streams, tasks, stored procedures, and user-defined functions (UDFs).
  • Manage Snowflake objects including databases, schemas, tables, views, and stages.
  • Optimize warehouse configurations and resource monitors for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Explore and implement Cortex Agents for automated data workflows.
  • Stay current with emerging Snowflake AI/ML capabilities and evaluate applicability to patient services.
  • Ability to drive Data Mesh adoption to empower business domains with decentralized data ownership while ensuring interoperability and governance at scale.
  • Deploy enterprise-grade agentic solutions using Snowflake Cortex to enable self-service analytics through conversational AI, natural language data exploration, and intelligent query assistance.
  • Conduct thorough user story reviews to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with business requirements.
  • Perform comprehensive code reviews and pull request (PR) reviews to maintain code quality standards.
  • Enforce data engineering best practices, coding standards, and design patterns across the team.
  • Establish and maintain documentation standards for all data solutions and processes.
  • Implement data quality frameworks and validation processes.
  • Participate in architectural design sessions and provide technical recommendations.
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and strategic technology roadmap.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using SchemaChange and Terraform.
  • Automate deployment processes for Snowflake objects and configurations.
  • Manage version control and change management processes.
  • Ensure deployment consistency across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Utilize DBT (Data Build Tool) for data transformation workflows and analytics engineering.
  • Develop and maintain DBT models, tests, and documentation.
  • Implement modular and reusable data transformation logic.
  • Leverage DBT best practices for version control and collaboration.
  • Maintain strict adherence to Sanofi Patient Services standards and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure all solutions comply with PHI (Protected Health Information) and PII (Personally Identifiable Information) regulations.
  • Implement GDPR-compliant data handling, storage, and processing practices.
  • Maintain patient data safety and privacy as the highest priority in all technical decisions.
  • Participate in compliance audits and implement remediation actions as needed.
  • Stay current with healthcare data regulations including HIPAA, GDPR, and other applicable standards.
