About The Position
As a Patient Escort, you play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and efficient transport of patients within Crittenton Hospital Medical Center (CHMC). You’ll support patients during their hospital journey, contributing to a positive and professional atmosphere while upholding the mission and vision of CHMC.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Successful completion of the Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support class at time of hire/transfer.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a positive and professional atmosphere for patients, demonstrating interpersonal skills to interact effectively with those under physical or emotional stress.
- Transport patients safely by wheelchair, stretcher, bed, or ambulatory means to and from areas throughout the hospital for testing, treatment, and transfers.
- Ensure patient safety by using proper lifting techniques and applying body mechanics principles.
- Clean and maintain transportation equipment daily to prevent injuries.
- Deliver specimens, blood products, patient charts, and other materials to hospital departments.
- Promote guest relations by anticipating and responding to needs with courtesy, respect, and confidentiality.
