About The Position

Patient Escorts are part of Patient Access Services and are responsible for providing information, directions, and physical assistance to customers. Duties include but are not limited to escorting patients to designated location, notifying the department of the patients' arrival and when requested signing the patient in on the departmental log. Patient Escorts also provide training to assigned volunteers in all aspects of patient escorting duties. Other job duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Three to six months in a medical and/or customer service setting
• Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English

Nice To Haves

• Six months to one year in a medical and/or customer service setting
• Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to designated areas in a punctual and timely manner
• Respects and protects patient confidence and hospital confidentiality by keeping all sensitive and patient information private
• Educate assigned volunteers on all Patient Escort responsibilities
• Serve as a liaison between Patient Access and receiving modality
• Other duties as assigned
