This role is responsible for lifting and transporting patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds, ensuring proper positioning and securing with correct body mechanics. The transporter will also be responsible for transporting other items such as patient belongings, specimens, carts, wheelchairs, and other equipment. They will maintain patient confidentiality, disinfect and inspect transport equipment, and track assignments using electronic software. Additionally, they may be responsible for collecting patient equipment from soiled utility rooms and picking up/delivering patient medication (excluding controlled substances).
