About The Position

Provide ground transportation for hospital and clinic patients to and from the airport and to and from the hospital/clinic for the elderly and handicapped in Nome in a safe and professional manner. Uphold the organization’s vision, mission, and corporate values. Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with organization’s policies, procedures, code of conduct and work rules.

Requirements

• General knowledge of typical office technologies such as computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, and typical office software
• Knowledge of local streets as well as familiarity of the local region
• Knowledge of small plane package handling
• Patient/customer service skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Good communication skills
• Ability to manage their time and organize their work to ensure efficient performance
• Ability to follow policy, procedure and instructions
• Actively communicate with their supervisors to ensure understanding and manage their work accordingly
• Ability to understand and manage patient/customer confidentiality
• Above average customer service skills
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 1 year(s) working in a service environment, hospital setting preferred
• 5 years driving experience
• Valid Alaska Driver's License
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must have an acceptable driving record without any major violations or no more than two minor violations in the last three years
• BLS

Responsibilities

• Provide ground transportation for hospital and clinic patients to and from the airport and to and from the hospital/clinic for the elderly and handicapped in Nome in a safe and professional manner
• Maintain a professional behavior and attitudes in regards to customers, visitors and coworkers
• Provide other transportation services such as delivery of business documents and checks needing signatures and outgoing packages to the airlines as needed
• Keep switchboard operator adviced of whereabouts to ensure efficient patient transportation
• Assure vehicle maintenance and cleaning, report all problems and/or concerns to the Maintenance Department and immediate supervisor
• Assist with various materials management support activities as required
• Perform other duties as assigned
